Tom Aune

Founder and Director

Tom founded Suremploy in 2000 after opening and operating several private physiotherapy clinics in NSW. He completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy and Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science from Sydney University. He has worked as a clinical physiotherapist for many years and gradually transitioned to an occupational health focus.   He has taught at the tertiary level, published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and elsewhere. 

Tom’s entrepreneurial perspective challenges traditional views and has succeeded in achieving outstanding results. His work in the injury prevention space has been shown to significantly reduce injury rates and injury costs across a broad range of Australian workplaces. Tom's extensive knowledge and experience culminated in the development of a highly innovative and effective pre-employment assessment tool.

Tom is passionate about innovating to improve lives in both physical and mental health. He values quality time with family and friends as well as travel, especially to his native Scandinavia.


Philip Currie

Chief Executive Officer

Philip is a senior leader with thirty-six years’ experience, including as the CEO of NSW’s largest and most sophisticated private hospital and associated group. He has studied at four Australian Universities, with clinical and management qualifications.

Commencing his career as a nurse clinician, he also has education, administration, leadership and governance experience. He has served on state and federal industry boards which interface with the government to influence policy.  Philip also chaired the governing committee for Open Heart International, a not-for-profit organisation, delivering health care services globally.

Philip joined the Suremploy team in early 2019 and brought his expertise to support and further develop the way holistic employment assessments are thought about, researched and delivered. Knowing that corporates have a broader social responsibility, Philip is passionate about workplace culture, which has the real potential to impact the employee, their health and their families. 

Phillip enjoys travel and immersing himself in diverse cultures.


Heather Burzacott

Director of Physiotherapy Services

Heather completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Andrews University (USA), before qualifying as a registered physiotherapist in both the USA and Australia. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings such as hospitals, private practice and aged care and has been published in the Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise journal. 

Heather joined the Suremploy team in 2004 and has moved up the ranks to be part of the senior leadership team. Her specific industry knowledge and experience has given her skills to lead the physiotherapy team effectively. Heather is responsible for ongoing physiotherapy training and contributes to quality improvement, research and development and strategic growth of the company.

Luke Floyd

Luke Floyd

National Business Relationship Manager

Luke joined the Suremploy team in early 2018 following a successful career in the insurance industry.  He has extensive experience in claims, account management, sales and distribution within the complex workers' compensation environment. Luke understands the implications that a significant claim has on an individual, work colleagues, family and business. 

Luke has been able to apply his knowledge to the pre-employment/risk management space, which has enabled Suremploy to provide a targeted approach to injury prevention with a significant return on investment. Luke is responsible for onboarding, client and partnership management, and implementing sales and marketing strategies.  

Luke is also a lover of all things related to food and fitness.
