Founder and Director
Tom founded Suremploy in 2000 after opening and operating several private physiotherapy clinics in NSW. He completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy and Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science from Sydney University. He has worked as a clinical physiotherapist for many years and gradually transitioned to an occupational health focus. He has taught at the tertiary level and published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and elsewhere.
Tom’s entrepreneurial perspective challenges traditional views affording outstanding results. His work in the injury prevention space has been shown to significantly reduce injury rates and costs across a broad range of Australian workplaces. Tom’s extensive knowledge and experience culminated in the development of a highly innovative and effective pre-employment assessment tool.
Tom is passionate about innovating to improve lives in terms of both physical and mental health. He values quality time with family and friends as well as travel, especially to his native Scandinavia.
Chief Operations Officer
Heather completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Andrews University (USA), before qualifying as a registered physiotherapist in both the USA and Australia. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings such as hospitals, private practice, and aged care. She has been published in the Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise journal.
Heather is a highly respected and trusted leader with significant knowledge of Suremploy. She joined Suremploy in 2004 and has been a vital part of its growth. As COO, she is responsible for driving the strategic vision, implementing innovation and utilizing her leadership skills to support the team to ensure operational excellence.
When Heather isn’t chasing adventurous travels, she can be found with a good book at the beach.
